Fight against cholera "stays right at the centre" of Haiti's hurricane response - UN Special Adviser
18 Oct 2016 -  Preventing an upsurge of disease, including cholera, is at the centre of humanitarian response in Haiti, in the wake of the devastation caused by Hurricane Matthew, according to Special Adviser to the UN Secretary-General, David Nabarro. In an interview with the UN News Centre, Dr. Nabarro said "a huge multifaceted response" is being undertaken by many countries from the region and beyond to assist Haiti, which has already been battling cholera for a while. He also spoke about the challenges faced on the ground, especially pertaining to infrastructure, food, water and access to shelter.
