Immersive Media in Action - SDG Studio, Global Festival of Action for Sustainable Development 2019
2 May 2019 -  In its most literal definition, immersion is being submerged in water. It is to be in an environment different than your own. Immersion also describes ways in which we interact with different media. From diving into the imaginary world of a book to experience being in a virtual environment while at the same time being in your own reality through VR and AR.

Questions of immersion in a medium like VR also include the effects those virtual experiences can have on the viewer, and how they can foster engagement to take action to change the world we live in.

The “Immersive Media in Action - Meet the Directors” SDG Studio talk is a discussion with VR directors and representatives of organizations that are using Virtual Reality and 360° videos to tell stories about issues related to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and empowering others to tell their own stories through these technologies.

Join us to discuss how they are using immersive media to immerse their viewers and users into different realities, bringing stories of development to the forefront with the use of new technologies, and helping make the Sustainable Development Goals everyone’s goals.
