28 Sep 2018 -  With more than 300,000 children and adolescents diagnosed with cancer globally, cancer is a leading cause of morbidity and death in those age groups. While the survival rate of many childhood cancers has surpassed 80% in resource-rich settings, in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs) where access to quality care is limited, survival rates of 20% or less are frequent. Objectives of the session: To launch a global initiative to bridge gaps in care and cure, and advance outcomes for children with cancer. Expected Result: Broad stakeholders informed regarding new global initiative in childhood cancer, and express commitments to accelerate progress.
