In 2020, it will be 25 years since the Beijing Platform for Action set out how to remove the systemic barriers that hold women back from equal participation in all areas of life, whether in public or in private.
• How is UN Women preparing to commemorate B+25 and what would be the key moments that we should be looking this year?
• What can we expect to see coming out of the Generation Equality Forum that will kick off in Mexico City in May and culminate in Paris in July?
• How can the private sector play a role in advancing gender equality in this pivotal year?
• How will the Action Coalitions be integrated and why is important to have members of the private sector in them?
The UN SDG Media Zone convenes Government leaders, CEOs, UN heads, activists, influencers and entrepreneurs for short panel discussions on topics related to the Sustainable Development Goals.
To mark its 20th anniversary, the UN Global Compact in partnership with the UN Department of Global Communications, is bringing the SDG Media Zone to Davos for the first time during the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting. Topics discussed include principled business, climate action, gender equality, sustainable finance, global health, employee purpose and many more issues directly related to the achievement of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development which was unanimously agreed by 193 UN member states in September 2015.
