Observance ceremony in commemoration of the United Nations Day
26 Oct 2020 - As part of the commemorative events marking the 75th anniversary of the United Nations, the General Assembly will hold a mandated meeting to observe UN Day. The observance ceremony, as mandated by General Assembly resolution 73/299, will highlight UN voices from the field and insiders’ perspectives of UN’s work and the future of the organisation.
The event will include a panel discussion with UN staff of all levels, moderated by the SG's Youth Envoy, as well as a special symbolic recommitment to the principles of the UN Charter, on the part of Member States. Opening remarks will be delivered by the President of the General Assembly, Secretary-General, as well as ECOSOC and the Security Council.
