WHO Director-General has reconvened the Emergency Committee under the International Health Regulations to review the current Ebola Virus Disease outbreak in the Democratic Republic of the Congo to ascertain whether the ongoing outbreak still constitutes a Public Health Emergency of International Concern and to review the temporary recommendations that are in place to manage it.
WHO also briefs about the conclusions of a 2-day Global Research and Innovation Forum to mobilize international action in response to the new coronavirus- COVID-19. Key players including leading scientists as well as public health agencies, ministries of health and research funders pursuing COVID-19 critical research and the development of vaccines, therapeutics and diagnostics, among other innovations are gathered in Geneva to discuss a priority research agenda for this virus.
