(Part 1) Nest's Third Annual Artisan Leadership Summit
7 Dec 2017 -  A multi-stakeholder convening on the handworker sector hosted with Ethical Fashion Initiative as part of Nest’s Third Annual Handworker Leadership Summit.
An achievable plan to meet the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals must include handworkers and women in the informal economy.
As the second largest employer of women in emerging economies, the handworker sector has the ability to create positive social and economic change on the global scale while supporting 12 of the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals. For this to be possible, transparency, development, and innovation are urgently needed. Building off of the International Trade Center (ITC)’s commitment to fashion as a vehicle for social and economic change, Nest and Ethical Fashion Initiative (EFI) are calling for a unified global front to uplift and mobilize the global handworker community.
