Special Event to Celebrate the World Day for Safety and Health at Work
28 Apr 2016 - Work-related accidents are among the top 5 leading causes of death in the world. Every year 2.3 million workers die from work-related injuries and diseases. Over 350,000 of these deaths are due to work-related injuries and almost 2 million are due to work-related diseases, including stress. To respond to this challenge, the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development has set a specific target on promoting safe and secure working environments for all workers (target 8.8).
This special event will discuss global initiatives to address safety at work.
