Tech Exhibit: Delivering the Message of Peace - Opening
28 Jan 2020 -  Assistant Secretary-General and Chief Information Technology Officer Atefeh Riazi will be delivering opening remarks.

The UN has continuously utilized the most effective communication technology solutions for over 75 years at UNHQ, OAHs, and Field Missions. The UN has been experiencing many technological changes over the decades to fulfill our global and multilingual requirements.

The exhibition, "Delivering the Message of Peace", focuses on unveiling the past and present of technological progression practice within the Organization. Development and innovation in information and communications technologies (ICT) have played a fundamental role in linking UN entities together and messaging consistently to support and sustain UN’s work.

With installation of interactive displays, the exhibition will engage with visitors on topics of transformations of ICT and emerging challenges. Visitors will learn milestones of each decade through multimedia content such as photographs and audiovisual presentations. A selection of historical artifacts from Headquarters and offices around the world will show how technologies and devices supported UN staff’s daily work in the past.

This event is organized by OICT, in partnership with DOS/FCAS and DGC. The display will be permanently installed in the Public Lobby of the General Assembly Building.
