At the UN, leaders discuss climate, conflict and peace
24 Sep 2020 -  Leaders from across the world addressed the annual General Assembly session as it continued its 75th session today. At a High-Level Roundtable on Climate Action, United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres issued an impassioned call for action to reach carbon neutrality by 2050. Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, participants largely delivered speeches by video, with some representatives present in the Hall. Heads of State offered their ideas for strengthening multilateralism, increasing the effectiveness of the United Nations and securing sustainable progress for future generations. The six-day debate runs from 22-26 September and 29 September.
