Leaders recommit to a sustainable future
18 Sep 2020 -  The United Nations kicked off a Decade of Action to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by 2030. The gathering was mostly virtual in response to the unprecedented COVID-19 pandemic, which participants cited as a further reason to accelerate progress towards achieving the Goals. Convened by United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres, the event brought together officials and advocates from around the world, including UN Messenger of Peace Malala Yousafzai. Participants aimed to generate a renewed sense of urgency, ambition, accountability and transformative possibility as the world embarks on a Decade of Action to deliver the SDGs and leave no one behind.
