About this session
The closing plenary of the 2015 Forum on Business and Human Rights will feature a multistakeholder
panel that will reflect on concrete steps to scale and speed up implementation of the
Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights’ three pillars of “Protect, Respect and Remedy”.
It has been over 4 years since the Guiding Principles were endorsed by the Human Rights Council.
We have seen great progress in diffusing and implementing the Guiding Principles in diverse sectors,
industries, and countries. And yet we know gaps in implementation remain massive. Looking
forward, what steps are needed to scale up action to protect against, prevent and remedy businessrelated
human rights abuse?
Panellists will offer their unique perspectives on what actions would deliver most “value for money”
in their respective areas. Time permitting, other participants in the audience will also have an
opportunity to offer their ideas on the most effective ways to speed and scale up implementation of
the Guiding Principles.
