Plenary I: Embedding human rights - Forum on Business and Human Rights 2016
14 Nov 2016 -  The 2015 adoption by the United Nations of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development gives the world an ambitious set of goals and targets to improve the lives of people, protect the planet and ensure more equal prosperity. With attention now focused on achieving the Global Goals, the question is how business entities should contribute in a meaningful way. The plenary session will examine this important question. Speakers will discuss the relationship between the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights and the Global Goals and identify how Government, business and civil society can ensure that the private sector puts “respect for human rights” at the heart of its contribution.
