Durable Solutions to Displacement in Urban Settings: the case of Haiti - High Level Meeting
This event provides an opportunity to review the current situation and needs of urban displaced in Haiti as well as discuss lessons learned and innovative best practices to find durable solutions. More specifically, panellists discuss how to best respond to the remaining humanitarian needs of IDPs in Haiti and how to ensure durable solutions for IDPs in and outside camp settings. The aim is also to encourage and share examples of how humanitarian and development actors can work in synergy in support of durable solutions in urban environments.
The event is co-hosted by OCHA and UNDP, in cooperation with the Government of Haiti, IOM and the Special Rapporteur on the Human Rights of IDPs. Participants include Member States, humanitarian actors and experts.
