30 Apr 2020 -  International Jazz Day 2020 Virtual Global Concert: Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the 9th annual International Jazz Day worldwide celebration is transitioning to a virtual format for 2020 instead of taking place as previously planned in Cape Town, South Africa and other locations around the world on April 30th. 
International Jazz Day Virtual Global Concert takes place online and hosted by Herbie Hancock, Morgan Freeman and Forest Whitaker featuring artists from across the globe including performances and messages from Marcus Miller (USA), Lang Lang (China), Charlie Puth (USA), Cécile McLorin Salvant (USA), John McLaughlin (UK), Dianne Reeves (USA), Dee Dee Bridgewater (USA), Sibongile Khumalo (South Africa), Alune Wade (Senegal), John Beasley (USA), Gregory Porter (USA), Lizz Wright (USA), John Scofield (USA), Igor Butman (Russia), Angélique Kidjo (Benin), Richard Bona (Cameroon), Evgeny Pobozhiy (Russia), Youn Sun Nah (South Korea), A Bu (China), Jane Monheit (USA), Lee Ritentour (USA), and Joey DeFrancesco (USA), among others.
