2 Apr 2019 -  The Intergovernmental conference on an international legally binding instrument under the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea on the conservation and sustainable use of marine biological diversity of areas beyond national jurisdiction will address the conservation and sustainable use of marine biological diversity of areas beyond national jurisdiction, in particular, together and as a whole, marine genetic resources, including questions on the sharing of benefits, measures such as area-based management tools, including marine protected areas, environmental impact assessments and capacity-building and the transfer of marine technology.

The Informal working group, facilitated by Her Excellency Ngedikes Olai Uludong (Palau), resumed its work on capacity-building and the transfer of marine technology.
Statements were made by representatives of States and observers.
The Facilitator informed the group that discussions on capacity-building and the transfer of marine technology would continue the next day and adjourned the meeting for the afternoon session.
