Global Investors for Sustainable Development (GISD) Alliance Discussion with Member States - GISD Alliance Second Annual Meeting
14 Oct 2020 -  The dramatic impact of the COVID-19 outbreak has lifted the world off its hinges since the UN Secretary-General launched the Global Investors for Sustainable Development (GISD) Alliance in October 2019.

Significant gaps in the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) have been exposed and exacerbated further by the pandemic. Additional challenges emanating from other global risks, including climate change and social injustice, were pushed into the spotlight.

The session will feature a moderated discussion between GISD Alliance Members and Member State representatives on the future deliverables of the GISD Alliance. A specific focus of the discussion will be possibilities for collaboration between the Alliance, Governments and the multilateral system on solutions to scale up investments for the SDGs in light of the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic.
