United Nations Day for South-South Cooperation commemoration
12 Sep 2019 -  United Nations Day for South-South Cooperation will be commemorated on 12 September 2019. The event is being organized by United Nations Office for South-South Cooperation, focussing on follow to the BAPA+40 Second United Nations High-level Conference on South-South Cooperation (https://www.unsouthsouth.org/bapa40/).

12 September is particularly significant this year as it marks the first commemoration of the United Nations Day following commitments made at the BAPA+40 Conference (https://www.unsouthsouth.org/wp-content/uploads/2019/07/N1920949.pdf).

The Secretary-General has confirmed that he will open the event.

  Other participants include the Chair of the G77, the President of the UN General Assembly, the President of the High-Level Committee on South-South Cooperation and the Administrator of UNDP.

Invitees include Permanent Representatives of Member States in New York and United Nations System South-South Focal Points.
