High-level regional consultation in Latin America & the Caribbean, co-hosted by the High-Level Panel on Int. Financial Accountability, Transparency & Integrity for Achieving the 2030 Agenda & the Economic Commission for Latin America & the Caribbean
24 Nov 2020 - In the high-level regional consultation, the Panel heard from the region’s leaders on their preferred means to address the shortcomings in the existing frameworks. The aim was to help develop political consensus on joint actions by the international community to promote financial accountability, transparency and integrity across all three areas of the Panel’s work: cooperation in tax matters; accountability, public reporting and anti-corruption; and international cooperation and settling disputes. The inputs fed into the FACTI Panel’s determination of technically feasible and politically viable recommendations to be made in its final report, which will be published in February 2021.
