2018 HLPF Side Event: Global Pact for the Environment: A Tool in Implementing the 2030 Agenda
17 Jul 2018 -  The project of a Global Pact for the Environment aims to maintain the global momentum started in 2015 with the adoption of the Paris climate agreement and the 2030 Agenda on the Sustainable Development Goals.

In line with the process launched by the resolution “Towards a Global Pact for the Environment” adopted by the United Nations General Assembly on 10 May 2018, we now have the chance to go one step further in our collective response to the unprecedented degradation of the planet.

This event will put forward the need to enhance the legal value of the main principles of international environment law, to codify and update them in a new international treaty in order to implement the 2030 Agenda in a coherent and integrated manner.
