(Part 1) World Leaders Summit, UNCTAD 14
18 Jul 2016 -  How are world leaders spearheading implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and leading the way forward to achieve economic, social and environmental sustainability?

With the agreement of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the Addis Ababa Action Agenda in 2015, world leaders committed to a broad, ambitious plan to transform the world we live in between now and 2030.

Heads of State and Government bear the ultimate responsibility for putting this plan into action. Their leadership and foresight will be key to charting the way forward and marshaling the efforts of all stakeholders in both the public and private sector, and in civil society.

The UNCTAD14 World Leaders' Summit will gather a group of eminent world leaders to address what they consider to be the cornerstones of SDG achievement in their respective countries and regions, and what needs to be done globally to move implementation forward. In a Davos style interactive session they will exchange views with one another and describe their vision for how to end poverty and to ensure inclusive prosperity, universal dignity and a better planet for all.
