Sustainable Financing for Universal Health Coverage
17 Apr 2019 -  Achieving Universal Health Coverage (UHC) is an ambitious goal that requires countries to mobilize sustained financial resources for health and to redistribute them for better health, greater equity and increased social cohesion. Providing affordable, effective and quality services is a challenge for countries at all income levels, as the health sector faces a severe crisis of under investment.
In advance of the September 2019 High-Level Dialogue on Financing for Development and the High-Level Meeting on Universal Health Coverage, this discussion will seek to elevate the critical linkages between the financing and health agendas in the context of the SDGs and share concrete examples of creative action from both the public and private sector. This conversation is also intended to inform the development of the Global Action Plan for Healthy Lives and Well-being for All (SDG3+ GAP) and explore how the GAP and the multilateral system can support countries in accelerating the financing and execution of Universal Health Coverage.
