UN Central Emergency Response Fund Allocations for Syria Crisis
Over 840,000 refugees from Syria have arrived in Lebanon since the beginning of the Syria crisis in 2011. UN Humanitarian Chief Valerie Amos underlined the support of the UN Central Emergency Response (CERF) in enabling critical aid efforts to help people in Syria and neighbouring countries such as Lebanon.

A total of $82 million was given for the Syria crisis, including $21 million for Lebanon alone, making the total funding the largest allocation of CERF funding in 2013.

"CERF really does make a difference to people when they most need help. I have seen it for myself here in Lebanon, and in many countries round the world," said Ms. Amos who visited displaced Syrian families in Lebanon in December 2013, urging donors "to continue to give generously to support CERF in 2014."
