In DR Congo, UN deputy chief pledges commitment to helping displaced women and children
27 Jul 2017 - UN Deputy Secretary-General Amina Mohammed has called for more resources to alleviate the suffering of people, displaced by conflict in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The remarks came when Ms. Mohammed led a UN-AU joint delegation to Mugunga Camp in the country’s North Kivu Province. The camp currently hosts about 4,000 internally displaced persons. Most of them are women and children.
