Global Action Plan for Healthy Lives and Well-being for all: Strengthening collaboration among global health organizations to accelerate progress on the health-related Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) (HLPF 2019 Side Event)
10 Jul 2019 -  The “Global Action Plan for Healthy Lives and Well-being for All” unites in partnership 12 global multilateral health and development organizations to help countries accelerate progress on their path toward a decade of delivery to achieve the SDGs.

The “Global Action Plan for Healthy Lives and Well-being for All” will be launched at this year’s UN General Assembly’s High-Level Week in September. Based on country demand, and building on existing interagency collaboration, the Plan identifies seven cross-cutting areas where collective action of the signatory agencies has a high potential to accelerate progress on the health-related SDGs in countries.

This side event will provide an opportunity for Member States and other stakeholders to learn more about the Global Action Plan and to feed into its development by sharing expectations and showcasing how acceleration towards the health-related SDG targets can be achieved through coordinated and multi-sectoral actions. It will also provide an opportunity to discuss how these multilateral organizations could better collaborate to collectively support national efforts to achieve the health-related SDG targets and the implementation of the Political Declaration on Universal Health Coverage.
