Leading on Climate Change
7 Apr 2016 -  UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon has fought tirelessly to ensure that climate change stays at the top of the leaders’ agendas and has launched a number of initiatives to fight climate change on the ground. Under his leadership, governments have advanced international efforts to fight, mitigate and adapt to climate change. In his travels, Mr. Ban has made it a priority to raise awareness on climate change. He was the first UN Chief to visit Antarctica and Chilean Patagonia, and the Pacific island of Kiribati, two regions on the climate frontline. Mr. Ban has also been leading initiatives that promote effective action at the local and national levels, including the Sustainable Energy for All, Zero Hunger Challenge and Caring for Climate initiatives.
