1.4 million children projected to be 'acutely malnourished' in Somalia, warns UN children's agency
According to UNICEF, acute malnutrition is projected to affect 1.4 million children in Somalia.
Nearly a fifth of those children suffer life-threatening severe malnutrition.
The situation has been worsened by ongoing drought, disease outbreak and displacement in the country.
UNICEF is providing assistance on the ground, especially to the most severely malnourished children.
