Amina Mohamed (Deputy Secretary-General) on Mitigation, Climate Action Summit 2019
22 Sep 2019 -  The UN Climate Summit will be an important moment for leaders to send a strong political signal of their determination to meet the goals of the Paris Agreement. Several state and non-state actors have already pledged to become carbon neutral by 2050 or before; further, information gathered suggests that momentum is growing for governments to enhance the ambition of their NDCs. Together, these group of countries and non-state actors demonstrate that a transition to a better future is possible and represents a solid ground for others to join.
