“One ocean –– Regenerating fish stocks: Achieving Sustainable Development Goal 14 (Conserveand sustainably use the oceans, seas and marine resources)
This is the fourth in a series of symposia engaging UN Member States. Its goal is to call for a scientific approach to reverse the accelerating decline of fish stocks in the ocean. Among other measures the goal calls for at least 10% of the ocean to be protected from exploitation by 2020. The OSA, along with its many partners, will highlight concrete steps to operationalize Goal 14, with a focus on creating a global network of sanctuaries through multi-stakeholder partnerships and collaboration.
