Action for Peacekeeping (A4P): from political commitment to operational reality
27 Sep 2018 -  An interactive dialogue between Ministers of Foreign Affairs and R2P Focal Points on moving from political commitment to operational reality on Action for Peacekeeping (A4P).

Every day UN Peacekeepers uphold the international community’s responsibility to protect populations from genocide, war crimes, crimes against humanity and ethnic cleansing through both conflict prevention and direct protection. This high-level event focuses on assessing how different stakeholders identified by the Secretary-General - including the host states of peacekeeping missions, the Security Council, the Troop- and Police Contributing Countries, and the UN Secretariat - can utilize the Action for Peacekeeping (A4P) initiative to improve the capacity of UN Peacekeeping to effectively prevent mass atrocity crimes. During the meeting ministers and other panelists representing the four stakeholders share strategies for effective action.
