(Opening Session) Special meeting of the Counter-Terrorism Committee on kidnapping for ransom and hostage-taking committed by terrorist groups
24 Nov 2014 -  The special meeting will bring together Member States and relevant international and regional organizations to discuss the threats of kidnapping for ransom and hostage-taking committed by terrorist groups; explore effective international, national and local counter-strategies; and determine how international bodies can most effectively interact with States to implement those strategies in full respect for the relevant human rights obligations.

Special meeting hosted by the Security Council Committee established pursuant to resolution 1373 (2001) concerning counter-terrorism.
