A Community Saved: The Rescue of Jews in Albania - Holocaust commemoration Event
27 Jan 2013 -  In extraordinary contrast with much of Europe, Albania - a nation under occupation during World War II - became a place of refuge not only for its entire Jewish population but also for everyone from outside Albania who could enter the country during the Holocaust. In all, some 2,000 Jews were rescued in this small country from the Nazi genocide.
