Act To Protect Children Affected By Conflict - Launch of the Advocacy Campaign Led by the Office of the Special Representative of the Secretary-General for Children and Armed Conflict
2 Apr 2019 -  When millions of boys and girls wake up every day in communities affected by armed conflict, with little or no access to the protection they deserve, we need to ACT.
Ms. Virginia Gamba, Special Representative of the Secretary-General for Children and Armed Conflict will launch her new campaign.
Ending and preventing the 6 grave violations committed against children in armed conflict is the focus of the Special Representative’s work and advocacy.
The international community has defined six grave violations as those affecting children the most in times of war. These also serve as the basis for the United Nations to collect information, report on how children are affected by conflict, take action to protect them and when possible prevent their use and abuse for, in and by armed conflict.
ACT to Protect children affected by conflict is an initiative designed to generate momentum and action to end and prevent grave violations against children in times of war.
Together, we can ACT to Protect children affected by armed conflict!
Between now and December 2022, the campaign will work with a broad range of partners around the world to improve the protection of boys and girls affected by armed conflict.
