Children in Central African Republic increasingly targeted - UN warns
18 Jul 2017 -  A surge in violence in southern border areas of the Central African Republic (CAR) has driven more people to flee, including into remote areas of northern Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), stretching local communities to cope, the UN refugee agency (UNHCR) said today. Meanwhile, the UN Children's Fund (UNICEF) warned of an increasing number of violent act committed against children - including murders, abductions, rape and recruitment into armed groups.
