Colombia: Early Detection Of Cancer Critical
1 Nov 2016 -  In South America, Colombia is witnessing a spike in cancer rates, particularly thyroid cancer in women. With help from the International Atomic Energy Agency, IAEA, this hospital in Bogota is using nuclear medicine to detect and treat cancer early. It’s now producing nuclear medicine pharmaceuticals such as radioactive iodine to kill cancer cells in thyroid patients.
