Faith-based approaches to sexual and reproductive health from a human rights’ perspective - CPD52 Side Event
2 Apr 2019 -  Despite the efforts made by the international community over the last decades, we have seen an increased polarisation in the areas of human rights, and especially with regards to gender equality and sexual and reproductive health (SRH) and reproductive rights (RR).
Religious actors have great influence over matters to do with population and development, including SRH, RR and gender equality - reaching from the delivery of health and education services, to the role religious leaders and other religious authorities have, as “norm setters”, legislators and advocates on the national and global scene.
We will hear from faith-inspired rights’ actors on the main theme of the CPD, “Review and appraisal of the Program of Action of the ICPD and its contribution to the follow-up and review of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.”
