Kenya: Tapping Geothermal Potential
Kenya is one of the fastest growing economies in Africa, but 75 per cent of its population do not have regular access to electricity. Geophysicists trained by the United Nations University Geothermal Programme are working with the Kenyan government to tap 10,000 megawatts of geothermal energy believed to be buried beneath the 900 kilometre-long Kenyan Rift Valley.UNIA Programme # 1398
