Leveraging innovation for humanitarian action: are drone and digital technologies up to the task?
19 Apr 2018 -  Panel discussion with the United Nations World Food Program (WFP), the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) and the UK Department for International Development (DFID) on the use of innovative technology for humanitarian action.

The contribution of this panel discussion is premised upon the idea that we can be more effective by testing creative solutions and by sharing experiences and evidence on these innovative approaches. As a whole, humanitarians are trying to find solutions on their own, while the challenges are often similar.

Furthermore, testing new approaches is part of a learning cycle, requiring humanitarian organisations to adapt and adjust their approaches based on their findings. Therefore this panel discussion wishes to give the opportunity to WFP, ICRC, UNICEF, DFID to share their experiences. Furthermore, the event aims at creating a forum for the panel as well as participants to exchange on the lessons learned and possible recommendations for the future use of innovative technology in humanitarian settings.
