Part 1, High level meeting on Sustaining Peace: Mechanisms, Partnerships and the Future of Peacebuilding in Africa
12 May 2016 -  The main purpose of the meeting is to sustain and expand the political momentum for peacebuilding in Africa and discuss ways to advance the implementation of the General Assembly and the Security Council resolutions A/RES/70/262 and S/RES/2282 (2016) on the Review of the Peacebuilding Architecture, adopted on 27 April 2016. The meeting will provide an opportunity to discuss the outcome and implications of the 2015 Review, including reinforcing UN-Africa peacebuilding partnerships and increasing financing for sustaining peace in Africa, building on cooperation with African regional and sub-regional peacebuilding organizations.
Organized by The United Nations Peacebuilding Support Office (PBSO) and the Office of the Special Adviser on Africa (OSAA), in collaboration with the African Union Commission.
