Separated, But Not Forgotten: The Heartbreaking Impact of North Korea's Repressive Policies on Families
9 Dec 2016 -  The Missions of the United States, Republic of Korea, Japan, and the United Kingdom jointly host "Separated, But Not Forgotten: The Heartbreaking Impact of North Korea's Repressive Policies on Families,” featuring testimony from two North Korean escapees who have been separated from loved ones as the result of the egregious human rights abuses committed by the government of the DPRK. This event is intended to shine a light on the plight of millions of North Koreans, who are silenced by their government and to ensure that the international community hears from the individuals who have suffered first-hand. The event is moderated by Ambassador Samantha Power, U.S. Permanent Representative to the UN, and will feature remarks by Ms. Kim Jeong-Ah and Mr. Joseph Kim, two victims of the North Korean regime who will be sharing their stories with the international community.
