The agenda was adopted without objection.
The President invited the representative of Serbia to participate in the meeting in accordance with rule 37 of the Council’s provisional rules of procedure.
The President invited Mr. Zahir Tanin, Special Representative of the Secretary-General and Head of the United Nations Interim Administration Mission in Kosovo, to participate in the meeting in accordance with rule 39 of the Council’s provisional rules of procedure.
The President invited Ms. Vlora Çitaku to participate in the meeting in accordance with rule 39 of the Council’s provisional rules of procedure.
The Council began its consideration of the item and heard a briefing by Mr. Tanin (via video-teleconference from Priština).
The Council heard a statement by His Excellency Ivica Dačić, First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia.
The Council heard a statement by Ms. Çitaku.
Statements were made by the representatives of the United Kingdom, Germany, the United States, France, the Russian Federation, China, Belgium, Peru, Indonesia, Kuwait, Côte d’Ivoire, Poland, the Dominican Republic, South Africa and by the President, speaking in his capacity as the representative of Equatorial Guinea.
