UN warns 2.1 billion people lack access to safe water
12 Jul 2017 - A new report by the World Health Organization (WHO) and UNICEF said three out of ten people worldwide, or 2.1 billion, lack access to safe, readily available water at home. In addition, six out of ten, or 4.5 billion, lack safely managed sanitation. Bruce Gordon from WHO called for more political will and funding from the international community to tackle the issue.
