Building on the recommendations of the United Nations Secretary-General in his 2022 reporton the implementation of the GCM1, the Migration MPTF side event aims to highlight key gapsand challenges in migration governance that would benefit from targeted support. Focusing specifically on the topics of climate change in the Pacific and trafficking and irregularmigration in West and Central Africa, the event will demonstrate how the Fund is poised to provide much needed support through joint action. It will offer an opportunity for Member States to announce pledges towards reaching the funding target of USD 70 million. The Coordinator of the United Nations Network on Migration, as Chair of the Migration MPTF Steering Committee, will bring the recommendations emerging from the session to the attention of Steering Committee members during its June meeting.
