UN Inter-Agency Task Force on the Prevention and…

Each year the Task Force convenes a meeting in the margins of the high-level week of the United Nations General Assembly to enable Member States, the United Nations system, and development partners to review actions being taken forward to meet the NCD- and mental health related SDG targets and current challenges. 

The theme of the event is accelerating multisectoral action to support countries in achieving the NCD-related SDGs in line with the 2022-2025 Task Force strategy. The topic of discussion is how to enhance the support that the Task Force members are providing to Member States, including mobilising resources for the Health4Life Fund.

Objectives:

• Highlight action that needs to be taken to meet the NCD- and mental health-related Sustainable Development Goals.
• Launch the new Task Force Strategy, 2022-2025.
• Promote the recently established UN Health4Life Fund, a multi partner trust fund to catalyze country action for NCDs and mental health, and highlight ongoing initiatives of Task Force members.
• Announce winners of the 2022 Task Force and WHO Special Programme on Primary Health Care Awards.
