High Level Dialogue: From Ambition to Action:…

As the first Rio Convention COP of the 2026 Triple COP Year—and the first COP following the adoption of the Belém Joint Statement on the Rio Conventions —UNCCD COP17 provides the first high-level opportunity to consider how the political momentum for Rio Synergies can be translated into practical, country-led implementation. Convened by the Presidencies of the UNCCD COP17, CBD COP17, and UNFCCC COP31, and with the support of the G20 Global Land Initiative at the UNCCD and the Joint Liaison Group, this dialogue will strengthen integrated implementation across the Rio Conventions as well as mark the launch of the UNFCCC COP31 Presidency Process towards the Rio Synergies Group for Action.
