The United States Mission to the United Nations welcomes all to virtually attend its Black History Month Concert Lift Every Voice: A Celebration of Progress and Hope from UN Headquarters on Monday, February 27, at 7:30PM Eastern.

The concert is organized in partnership with the United States Military Academy at West Point and will feature the West Point Band and the West Point Cadet Glee Club. The concert celebrates the contributions of Black composers and musicians and honors the progress the nation has made toward equal rights as well as its commitment to continue this vital work.  The works selected communicate unity, diversity, and, above all hope and range from living composers, honors Black-Latinx contributions, and celebrates the world-wide popularity of music from Motown.  The concert concludes with a rendition of Lift Every Voice and Sing.

The Representative of the United States to the United Nations, Ambassador Linda Thomas-Greenfield, will open the event with brief remarks.  The assembled delegations will also hear from the U.S. Military Academy Superintendent, Lieutenant General Steve Gilland.
