Security Council Arria-formula meeting on Mine…

The United Nations Security Council Arria-formula Meeting entitled "Safeguarding Lives, Sustaining Peace: Enhancing Mine Action for Stabilization, Protection, Recovery, and Inclusion" will discuss the many recent and ongoing conflicts on the Security Council's agenda in which civilians are suffering the effects of landmines, ERW and IEDs and the support required by affected governments and populations, United Nations mine action entities and their partners.

Participants will hear briefings from Mr. Jean-Pierre Lacroix, Under-Secretary-General for Peace Operations, in his capacity as Chair of the Inter-agency Coordination Group on Mine Action, and H.E. KEO Chhea, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary and Permanent Representative of the Kingdom of Cambodia, followed by interventions by Security Council members.
