On 23 September 2026, under the chairship of Italy and the Philippines, with UN Women as Secretariat, the WPS-FPN will hold its Annual Ministerial Meeting on the margins of the
81st session of the United Nations General Assembly High-Level Week. Under the theme,
Delivering on WPS: Consolidating Implementation and Accountability in a Fragmented
Security Landscape, and building on the Joint Communiqué of the Eighth Capital-Level
Meeting, speakers will highlight the concrete actions they will take to increase political
engagement, sustain financial support to meet the scale of the need, and more strongly integrate the foundational pillars of the WPS agenda - prevention, participation, protection, and relief and recovery - into defense and security decision-making.
