The integration of emerging technologies into the functions of law enforcement including counter-terrorism is reshaping the very landscapes of public safety and global security. Innovations such as artificial intelligence (AI), encryption technologies, dark web monitoring tools, and forensics tools for virtual asset investigations, present an unprecedented potential to improve investigative processes, enable more accurate threat identification and response, and streamline operations. This immense potential has already made such emerging technologies essential for many agencies across an increasingly broad range of activities and positioned them to play a fundamental role in these sectors' future. In recognition of this, INTERPOL's Secretary-General, Jürgen Stock, stated that we are witnessing an era of hyper-innovation boosted by technology and called for agencies to further explore how they can leverage these opportunities.
