Women and girls, particularly in rural communities, sustain agricultural and food systems worldwide, yet many remain excluded from secure land rights, legal recognition, and meaningful participation in decisions that shape their livelihoods.Convened during the 70th Session of the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW70), Seeds of Justice: Agriculture, Legal Equity, and the Protection of Women and Girls will take place on 18 March 2026 from 4:45-6:00 PM in Conference Room 8. The discussion will explore how equitable land tenure, inclusive agricultural policies, and strengthened legal systems can expand access to justice, reinforce food sovereignty, and reduce vulnerability to economic insecurity and violence.Bringing together ministers, policy leaders, and civil society practitioners, the event will highlight practical and policy-relevant approaches that connect women's rights in agriculture to improved health, nutrition, and long-term resilience across generations.
